Tell Your Representatives to Protect the Dreamers

More than 700,000 young people who came to America as children have been protected from deportation under Obama’s executive order, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). DACA recipients, also known as Dreamers, have been able to receive two-year work permits that allow them to work and pay taxes, financial aid and in-state tuition, and most importantly, protection from deportation. Many Dreamers, who came to the US before they could talk, have no memories of being anything but American. Some now have children who are US citizens. There is currently no path to citizenship for Dreamers.

Call your representatives tell them that Dreamers should be here to stay.

I ask that Senator/Rep _____ urge the Trump transition team to keep the previous adminstration’s immigration policies in place, particularly DACA. America is a nation of immigrants, and DACA recipients are young people who came here as children and now are able to contribute to our economy and support their families in America. We do not close our doors on people in need, and ending DACA will hurt our economy and our families.
